World Cup legend Sir Geoff Hurst\u2019s debut NFT collection\u00a0\u2018The Everlasting Memory\u2019<\/a> is now available on Rarible<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The open edition collection is on sale now, and\u00a0will raise funds for two charities close to Sir Geoff\u2019s heart, Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK and the Alzheimer\u2019s Society.<\/p>\n

\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00adThe NFTs represent recollections of England\u2019s famous World Cup victory over West Germany in 1966.<\/p>\n

As well as the open edition NFTs, a special 1 of 1 NFT will go on sale on 16th December 2022.<\/p>\n

Sir Geoff Hurst said of the collection:\u00a0\u201cAs time passes, and memories fade, the 1966 World Cup is still etched in my brain, and I am fortunate to be able to recall that life changing experience even at the ripe old age of 80 years. Watching from the side-lines as teammates from that World Cup winning side have been impacted by the awful disease that is Alzheimer\u2019s, has been a humbling experience. These amazing men were more than teammates, they were heroes to me \u2013 and to the rest of the nation.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Worlds collide<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Reeps One\u2019s collection \u2018The Everlasting Memory\u2019<\/a> will immortalize a historical moment in world football,\u00a0but also help a\u00a0worthy\u00a0cause. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Just three members of the heroic 66\u2032 England team are still alive, including\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff, with a number of England\u2019s football heroes falling victim to Alzheimer\u2019s disease.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The artwork, generated by\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff\u2019s vocal memory, has been created by artists Harry Yeff and Trung Bao, creators of the world-renowned VOICE GEMS system.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sir Geoff continued: \u201cRaising vital funds and awareness for charities like Alzheimer\u2019s Research UK and the Alzheimer\u2019s Society, is close to my heart and getting involved in an NFT project to do that has been an eye-opening experience. Of course, I\u2019ve read about this new world of NFTs, and my Grandson has often talked about them \u2013 to be able to call on my own memories of 66\u2032 and immortalise them digitally for future generations was what really intrigued me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

VOICE GEMS founder Harry Yeff met\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff\u00a0at Wembley earlier this summer, where\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff\u00a0shared\u00a0his memories to inspire Reeps One\u2019s NFT creation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Having seen his teammates suffer from Alzheimer\u2019s,\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff\u00a0admits his memory of the World Cup could also fade \u2013 which makes his involvement in the project even more poignant.<\/p>\n

Reeps One, a London Born leading artist, commented:\u00a0\u201cReceiving the call that\u00a0Sir\u00a0Geoff\u00a0Hurst\u00a0wanted us to preserve his 1966 memory is not something I will forget fast. Arguably there is nothing more iconic in sports than that hat-trick. Growing up in London\u2019s Walthamstow it\u2019s been a moment that has come up again and again in my life. I have been around the world twice collecting voices for the VOICE GEMS project, but this is Legendary. A legendary voice for a legendary cause. A memory frozen in time\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
