Using generative neural networks that have been trained on her analog and digital photography, unexpected combinations and relationships emerge between seemingly disparate entities. Boundaries are blurred and latent spaces converge in disjointed harmony.

Radix’s long-form generative Exposures project shows people navigating a wild and vibrant abstract world, sometimes solitary, other times en masse, but always trapped within their utopian digital distractions. The pieces combine different characters and attitudes, forming relationships within a digital world.

About the Artists

Yoshi Sodeoka is a multimedia artist known for his neo-psychedelic style, blending video, GIFs, and print with a strong musical influence. Originally from Yokohama, Japan, Sodeoka moved to New York in the 1990s to study at Pratt Institute and has since become a prominent figure in digital art, merging video feedback, sampling, and soundscapes to create immersive sensory experiences. His collaborations span iconic bands like Metallica and Tame Impala, editorial work for The New York Times and Wired, and projects for brands like Apple and Nike. Exhibited globally at venues like the Centre Pompidou and Tate Britain, Sodeoka’s work is part of prestigious collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and SFMOMA.

Ivona Tau, a generative A.I. artist from Vilnius, Lithuania, merges neural networks and code with photography and motion painting to evoke emotion and create universally relatable memories. With 15 years in photography and A.I. research, she transforms personal experiences captured on film through GAN. Recognized among the Top 10 Women in AI by the Women in Tech Foundation, Tau has exhibited her award-winning work at Art Basel Miami, Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and more, with pieces in collections like ZKM Museum of Contemporary Art. She holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and actively contributes to computer vision research.

Rob Dixon (Radix) is a generative artist, game designer, and software developer whose work is often marked by integrating digital mediums and interactive elements. He first ventured into generative art in the late 1990s and began blockchain development in 2015. After several successful releases on ArtBlocks, including Inspirals and Eccentrics, with styles that explore complex geometric forms and visual rhythm, Dixon was invited to be a featured artist at ArtBlocks Marfa activation in 2023 and part of Proof’s Diamond Exhibition at the Foundry Gallery in Los Angeles that same year.

He is a co-creator of the 2018 CryptoBeasties NFT trading card game and is a contributor to several notable Decentraland projects including the “WonderZone Amusement Park ” and the “WonderMine” game. Dixon was previously part of the Flash Player team at Adobe and has designed and developed titles in the gaming industry including “Monopoly Slots” for Electronic Arts (EA) and “Wheel of Fortune Slots” for Game Show Network (GSN).

Register to Join Us in Miami

Going to Miami? Join us for a day of digital fine art and groundbreaking creativity, where artists and top industry will converge to redefine the art landscape. Register here.

Source link

We’re excited to present new works by Yoshi Sodeoka, Ivona Tau, and Rob Dixon (AKA Radix), curated by MakersPlace Senior Director & Curator Jessica Marinaro, to be exhibited during Art Week Miami 2024. The artworks will premiere during the inaugural Miami Digital Art Fair presented by Blackdove, which will take place at BeyBey Miami, just […]

[16
