The <a href=\"https:\/\/nftnewstoday.com\/2022\/06\/09\/why-is-ethereum-so-popular-for-nft-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ethereum<\/a> NFT offers a one-of-a-kind piece of history \u2013 a digital representation of the Pentagon Papers.<\/p>\n<p>The sale proceeds will be donated to two incredibly important organizations: the <a href=\"https:\/\/freedom.press\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Freedom of the Press Foundation<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umass.edu\/ellsberg\/initiative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniel Ellsberg Initiative for Peace and Democracy<\/a>. Both foundations work together to protect press freedom, promote peace and fight against the suppression of truth.<\/p>\n<p>The NFT was eventually auctioned for 14.69ETH.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between Snowden and Ellsberg is a tribute to the release of the Pentagon Papers in 1971, aptly titled <em>Wouldn\u2019t You Go to Prison to Help End This War?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The live stream featured interviews with Ellsberg and Snowden, clips from a documentary produced by PleasrDAO, and of course the NFT auction.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the NFT auction, PleasrDAO Head of Marketing Chris Eberle said both Snowden and Ellsberg were ideal partners to collaborate with, and were looking forward to raising more money after Snowden\u2019s  NFT auction.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We got to know Snowden and the Freedom of the Press Foundation when we acquired Snowden\u2019s \u2018Stay Free\u2019 NFT,\u2019 said Eberle. \u2018It\u2019s an amazing piece, and the funds raised from the auction funded a year-plus of Freedom of the Press Foundation operating costs.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Don&#039;t Wait | Lies, Whistleblowers, and a NFT (Edward Snowden and Daniel Ellsberg)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FfJPL6cci_Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Credit: Pleasr DAO YouTube Channel<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-pleaserdao-making-big-strides-on-nft-auction-market\">PleaserDAO Making Big Strides on NFT Auction Market<\/h2>\n<p>PleaserDAO has made big strides in the NFT market since launching in March 2021. The DAO was formed and named after digital artist, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pplpleasr1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Emily \u201cpplpleasr\u201d Yang<\/a> with a single purpose in mind \u2013 to acquire one of her NFTs.<\/p>\n<p>Then in April 2021, the DAO won an auction with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2021\/04\/16\/nsa-whistleblower-edward-snowden-sells-nft-for-54m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$5.4m bid<\/a> for one of Edward Snowden\u2019s NFTs, saying they wanted to support the whistleblower\u2019s cause. Since then, members of the DAO and Snowden have collaborated, resulting in the launch of the new interactive livestream.<\/p>\n<p>The NFT commemorates the historic court ruling that declared the National Security Agency\u2019s mass surveillance to be illegal and boasts the iconic picture of Snowden taken by photographer Platon.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-how-pleasrdao-works\">How PleasrDAO Works<\/h2>\n<p>PleasrDAO is a group of anonymous buyers who are passionate about decentralization and using the DAO to benefit society. The artist pplpleasr has become an honorary member.<\/p>\n<p>It provides collective ownership of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nftnewstoday.com\/2022\/09\/16\/how-daos-and-nfts-work-together\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DAO<\/a> via tokens, with each individual member receiving a portion of its assets \u2013 such as two NFTs and funds in the treasury.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, all members get to partake in governance decisions through an integrated group chat platform. If any member wishes to exit the DAO, their tokens would go up for sale in the group chat.<\/p>\n<p>And with a view to collecting more <a href=\"https:\/\/nftnewstoday.com\/2022\/12\/14\/state-of-fine-art-how-nfts-changing-the-scene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NFT artwork<\/a>, PleasrDAO members will also vote on other directions the DAO intends to take.
