The move came as a part of Circle\u2019s effort to minimize risks and guarantee its holders the redeemability of their coins.<\/p>\n<p>According to a corporate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.circle.com\/blog\/deepening-our-partnership-with-blackrock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/www-circle-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/www.circle.com\/blog\/deepening-our-partnership-with-blackrock?hs_amp=true\">blog post<\/a> from Nov. 3, the Circle Reserve Fund is a registered Rule 2a-7 government money market fund managed by BlackRock, with a portfolio consisting of cash and short-dated U.S. Treasuries.<\/p>\n<p>The fund is available only to Circle. The company will use part of its proceeds to buy new Treasury holdings and store it in the Reserve Fund under the custody of the Bank of New York Mellon. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/usdc-adoption-is-lagging-outside-of-the-united-states-coinbase\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/usdc-adoption-is-lagging-outside-of-the-united-states-coinbase\/amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the recent statement by Coinbase<\/a> crypto exchange, there is currently three times more USDC bought with U.S. dollars as compared to other currencies. Nevertheless, The U.S. dollar-pegged cryptocurrency remains the second-largest stablecoin by market capitalization under Tether (<a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/tether-price-index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USDT). <\/a><\/p>\n<p>In September, Circle have announced that it will soon roll out its stablecoin <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/circle-product-vp-usdc-chain-expansion-part-of-multichain-vision\" data-amp=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph-com.cdn.ampproject.org\/c\/s\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/circle-product-vp-usdc-chain-expansion-part-of-multichain-vision\/amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">across five additional networks<\/a> including Polkadot, Optimism, Near, Arbitrum and Cosmos.
