News about Apple\u2019s new mixed reality VR headset caused a spike in demand for Decentraland\u2019s MANA token, and The Sandbox\u2019s SAND token. Now, we know much more about Apple\u2019s exciting new technology.<\/p>\n

Apple appears to be preparing for its grand entrance to the metaverse. Bloomberg revealed details about Apple\u2019s new mixed-reality VR headset<\/a>, which may yet cause another ripple effect in the market.<\/p>\n

Just days ago, news about Apple\u2019s mixed reality VR headset caused the price of Decentraland\u2019s MANA token to surge to $7.80USD. Additionally, SAND also shot up to $0.83USD on January 21st.<\/p>\n

At present, the price of MANA is 4.70USD, which is a 135% increase in the last month. As for SAND, the price sits at 0.76USD \u2013 a 69% increase in the last month. However, new details about Apple\u2019s VR headset show that the device is tailor made for the metaverse. As we foreshadowed in November,<\/a> Apple is making moves to challenge Mark Zuckerberg\u2019s Meta.<\/p>\n

How the market will react to this latest reveal, only time will tell.<\/p>\n

How Apple\u2019s VR device works<\/h2>\n

Apple\u2019s mixed reality headset will have an \u201ciOS-like\u201d interface that will include \u201cmany functions\u201d available on the\u00a0iPhone\u00a0and\u00a0iPad.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we can look forward to eye and hand-tracking, with Apple using external cameras that can analyze a user\u2019s hands and eyes. What is more, users will be able to control the headset by looking at on-screen items, and using gestures to activate the items. Hence, this ground-breaking technology will no longer rely on a physical controller.<\/p>\n

Crucially, the headset will be able to switch between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Augmented reality<\/a> will allow you to manipulate virtual objects onto the real world. Conversely, virtual reality will provide an entirely immersive, virtual environment.<\/p>\n

Apple appears to be offering a direct challenge to Meta\u2019s Quest headset. Much like Meta, Apple\u2019s technology will focus on providing engaging video conferencing features. For example, the user can enjoy FaceTime-based video chatting capabilities and meeting rooms. Moreover, a user\u2019s actual face and full body will be rendered in virtual reality for interactive meetings.<\/p>\n

What this means for the metaverse<\/h2>\n

Following a trademark<\/a> filed last August,\u00a0we know that this headset will likely be branded \u2018Apple Reality\u2019. Furthermore, we can assume that Apple is locking horns with Meta in a titanic battle for metaverse supremacy.<\/p>\n

Although Apple is coy on its plans, this revolutionary mixed-reality VR headset is highly revealing.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t seem too far-fetched that Apple\u2019s new headset could one day be paired with an expansive virtual world, such as Decentraland or The Sandbox.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
