Today Trevor Jones is releasing the 4th edition of EthBoy: the NFT painting of Vitalik Buterin in a harlequin suit, is releasing a new edition to celebrate the Ethereum co-founder\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n
The fourth edition of the generative artwork, created by Trevor Jones in the style of Pablo Picasso\u2019s Paul as Harlequin, was done in collaboration with Grammy-winning DJ Sasha and will be displayed on Oxford Street in London.<\/p>\n
The NFT is part of the ETHEREAL collection, which will feature a new Ethboy iteration with Async Art every six months for the next five years, in collaboration with artists Alotta Money and DJ Don Diablo. Async Art enables creators to make digital art that evolves over time and reacts to external data and stimuli, and the painting changes daily based on factors such as Ethereum\u2019s price and network gas fees. This latest one-of-a-kind edition celebrates Buterin\u2019s birthday on January 31. Jones said the aim of the collection is to tell the story of Buterin\u2019s life through art and will become a historic work of art and a coveted item for the 10 involved collectors and partners.<\/p>\n

He was an influential figure in the NFT community and a true pioneer in the crypto art space. His work was a mixture of anarchic, cyberdelic, and humorously subversive art, including Twitter banners and classical painting profanations. He was also a renowned architect and designer in the metaverse. Born in Buenos Aires, Alotta Money was one of the first artists to tokenize his work, and his detailed, playful, and beautiful art can still be found on many major crypto art platforms today. Sadly, he passed away from cancer in March 2022 but his legacy and impact in the crypto art world will continue to live on.<\/p>\n Beginning as a painting paying tribute to Picasso\u2019s \u2018Paul Dressed as Harlequin\u2019, Trevor Jones\u2019s \u2018Ethereum Boy\u2019 recast Vitalik Buterin, founder of the Ethereum network, in the role of harlequin.
