Today, Splinterlands opens up the sale of DEC Batteries, or DEC-B. These batteries allow players to lock DEC tokens away, while spending only 80% of the value in the battery. Sort of like a locked savings account, DEC-B provides an opportunity to get extra value from your DEC tokens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today marks the beginning of the sale of DEC-B, or Dark Energy Crystal Batteries, in Splinterlands. <\/p>\n

There will two billion DEC-B tokens available. Each one costs 0.8 DEC or 0.1 VOUCHERS. However, this is kind of like a staking system or savings bond. There is no current use case for DEC Batteries. So players will be forced to hold these tokens until they can be spent in some future update. However, when they do have a use, each battery will be considered to be worth 1 DEC. So there is an opportunity to increase the value of DEC that you were going to hold onto anyway!<\/p>\n

And even though one recent player proposal failed, the Splinterlands team does have plans for using these DEC-B tokens. So this isn\u2019t an investment into a completely nebulous future. You can read more about DEC-B tokens here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
