The newly minted DUDES NFT project<\/a> has notched up over 200 ETH in trading volume in less than 24 hours of launching. The project features 10K PFP characters of DUDES in different moods, and according to the project\u2019s creator, the goal is to create a private community for these characters where members get to \u201cchat about NFTs, memes, and of course these DUDES.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The creator\u2019s fascination with NFTs inspired him to create \u201cnew meme characters\u201d <\/em>that could rival the likes of Mfers or Pepe. This translates to roughly $456,743 as of press time. The floor price for each DUDES NFT is currently 0.005 ETH or $10, and there are approximately 2,216 different owners.<\/p>\n DUDES was announced on March 26 with minting kicking off on April 3. It turns out its early success lies with its supportive community that is bent on spreading good vibes within the NFT community. While, the fact that its anonymous creator appears to be a cool dude who isn\u2019t planning on leaving the NFT realm has inspired confidence in the project.<\/p>\n As mentioned earlier, DUDES is built in the spirit of popular meme characters like Pepe the frog, which have captured the attention of the internet over the past few years. Rare Pepes have been around as NFTs since 2016 and are some of the oldest non-fungible tokens in circulation. One Rare Pepe dubbed \u201cPepenopoulos\u201d<\/em> which pays homage to Bitcoin evangelist Andreas M. Antonopoulos, sold for $3.6 million at a Sotheby\u2019s auction last October.<\/p>\n Whether DUDES will get this kind of recognition remains to be seen.
