Web3 entertainment firm, Toonstar<\/a>, has announced \u2018Space Junk<\/a>\u2018 an all-new, NFT-backed TV series set to launch in May. The animated comedy show will follow the trials and tribulations of various cartoon characters as they set about collecting trash in space.<\/p>\n Starting May 15, fans of the show will be able to mint \u201cSpace Junk\u201d<\/em> NFTs on the Theta Blockchain that will give holders the opportunity to be part of the action by contributing ideas, creating characters, and participating in exclusive experiences.<\/p>\n Following the initial mint, the show will become available for streaming starting May 19. \u201cWorkaholics\u201d <\/em>producer Dominic Russo was tasked with writing the script for the series, which will star the likes of Napoleon Dynamite star, Jon Heder, and comedian, Tony Cavalero.<\/p>\n While speaking to the press, John Attanasio, the co-founder and CEO of Toonstar, highlighted that the model behind their upcoming show and other productions on the platform is designed to disrupt the traditional creator norms that have been prevalent in Hollywood for ages.<\/p>\n i\u2019m just going to say what we are all thinking\u2026.what happened to the tip of Hank\u2019s \ud83c\udf46? pic.twitter.com\/bb8T0Yui56<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Space Junk (@spacejunkiesxyz) April 25, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Toonstar has a dual mission of leveraging Web3 as a springboard to create original entertainment IP while also providing opportunities to new and diverse creators who may not have had a chance to bring their ideas to life.<\/p>\n Although \u201cSpace Junk\u201d will primarily be created by human effort, it will also utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to generate some of its content. One notable instance is the robot character \u201cWellbecca,\u201d who was generated via AI and designed specifically to boost fan engagement.<\/p>\n The show\u2019s star, Jon Heder expressed that,\u00a0\u201cit\u2019s really cool knowing that we have the inclusion of the audience and the community, and having a little bit more of that interaction in terms of them really putting forth ideas. \u201cI\u2019m very curious to see how that will come about.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Space Junk marks Toonstar\u2019s latest NFT-backed animated venture.
