Pakistani-American actor\/comedian Kumail Nanjiani and Award-Winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy are launching charity Bitcoin Soul Bound Token NFTs<\/a> to aid the victims of the dreaded Pakistan floods. The release of the soul-bound tokens are in partnership with NFT company Superfandom and Bitcoin solution company Hiro. The SBTs are also more social identity tokens and \u201cstick\u201d to the owners\u2019 wallets. SBTs have critical use cases in building reputation, communities with long-term ties, and identity management. The Marvel actor will launch the tokens on Superfandom\u2019s website. The charity auction offers five types of SBTs at different price points. Furthermore, this auction will be open for 48 hours and the proceeds will go to the Alkhidmat Foundation. The foundation is one of Pakistan\u2019s most impactful humanitarian organizations helping flood victims.<\/p>\n Recent Pakistan floods displaced over 16 million children, with 3 million children in need of immediate intensive care. Pakistan also saw 45% of its total agricultural lands wiped out as a result of this catastrophe. Moreover, the flood waters caused over $30 billion in damages in what experts are calling \u201cthe biggest humanitarian catastrophe of this decade.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOver 33 million people\u2019s lives have been upended by these floods. That\u2019s more than the whole population of Texas. Homes and livelihoods were wiped away from one day to the next.
